A buzzing city with beautiful broad boulevards, chic shopping and plenty to see. The architecture is outstanding, the Cathedral Ste-Croix is a must see as is Hotel Groslot, not a hotel as the name would suggest. Orleans was home to the world famous Joan of Arc, learn about her part in the 100 years war and how she changed history in 1429 at the museum.
The region is home to many vineyards and is the original home of Sauvignon Blanc. Sancerre is the world’s most prestigious Sauvignon Blanc sets international standards for the grape. You will also find delicious reds and rosé from Pinot Noir in Sancerre, Menetou-Salon, and Chateaumeillant. A vineyard tour is a great way to spend a day in the Loire.
With central Paris just 1 hour by train from Orleans, you can easily venture into Paris to explore everything the city has to offer. The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, The Arc De Triumph, we could go on and on. A captivating city, Paris will leave you wanting more.
The region is flat with lots of bike paths, so hopping on a bicycle is a great way to take in the local area. Whether you are more into a gentle cycle or a serious cycling adventure, there are many places to rent bikes, so get those legs pedalling!
